I made this last year and caught a few, however they all died-I think it is the baking soda? We planned to dispatch them anyway, but.......also found a ringtail that escaped the trap.

i usually have problems with putting bait under the trap because my coons just knock over my trap so i usually put it in a container that can’t get under the plate

The bait worked on the first night!! Put it out around 6pm and had one captured by 10pm thanks for the advice

Some one in New Zealand put a camera on a cage trap for Brush Tale Possums . Only one in four Possums even went near the trap.

Unfortunately in Idaho we can't use any bait or lure with salt. I spray bobcat urine around and deer and elk keep coming back. They are probably attracted to it because it naturally contains salt.

Not crazy idea. My uncle has used peanut cake for years. Peanut cake is what remains after the peanuts have been pressed for the oil.

This was the worst week ever for me. Three raccoons have been coming every night killing two or three of my chickens each night. Wake up to dead body parts everywhere. I have traps out and they just walk right pass them until I found this video. Caught my first raccoon within the first 2 hours of the cherry vanilla kool aid marshmallow treat. This stuff really is like raccoon crack!!!!

I built me one! It only takes one sniff and the bear leaves in a blur in the photos. And they haven’t been back

I learned a few decades ago that raccoons will eat almost anything. I also learned that the wife does not appreciate it when we put some of our concoctions into the refrigerator. 🙂

Our state ruined that too. The slots have to be a min of 8 inches. So there is only 10 inches or less. So some animale can reach the bait.

If you just want coons use a golf ball instead of fish bait. Works like magic.

I dont know whats been eating my tomatoes . I bought a trap and put a bowl in the rear with peanuts, peanut butter , Nutella, and a chocolate chip cookie. Setting it out tonight. I may add other stuff. Just pray its not a skunk.

Why add the baking soda? Seems counter productive, since it can be used for cleaning and deodorizing. Also if the flour is being used strictly for a thickening agent, corn starch works better. For that matter, you just leave the thickening agent out, and melt the batch in the microwave and pour the hot mixture into small bowls or cups. After it cools, you'll have a sticky, yummy hockey puck. And all those that poo-poo the idea of using cat food because you're not trying to catch cats are idiots. Raccoons love it.
